Over Spring Break 2005 (March 25-April 2) my husband Chip and I took our first trip to London. What an amazing, historic city! We stayed in an 1800s townhome in Bloomsbury, right next to the British Museum.   From there we were able to walk just about everywhere. And walk we did!.  London is a regal city filled with such fascinating history, from royalty to literature to music.  Below are a few photos we took on our trip.  I hope you enjoy them!

The world-famous Changing of the Guard, with the guards in their winter greycoats

Either he's really tall, or I'm really short!

Our favorite wine bar in London; literally a "hole in the wall"

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

Sitting in the stalls at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

Sitting with Charles Dickens's ghost in our favorite London pub, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese

Love those London phone booths!

One of the highlights of our trip -- the Abbey Road Film Festival!

And would a trip to Abbey Road Studios be complete without a picture in the famous "Zebra Crossing" out front? Here's Chip in the Paul McCartney spot.

Now can we write this trip off?

We saw Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, the longest running play in the world.

The London Eye

The Reading Room at the British Museum. I could live here!

Beautiful Hyde Park

Trafalgar Square -- the "Heart" of London

Ah, you've got to love London's pub culture!
